Wipe down lightly with leather preparer again with a microfiber of some kind to remove all the lint and debris from sanding.Patent leather is extremely smooth plastic and it needs to be properly prepped.
For better adhesion we suggest sanding down with Angelus high grit (800,1500) to give the paint somewhere to stick better.
